This fall, our elementary (Grades 4-6, Merge) and teen programming (Grades 7-12, Echelon) are happening on Wednesday evenings starting on October 1st between 6:30pm and 8pm. Part of our strategy of aligning our times is to make it easier for everyone to plan their family schedules as we know how busy families can be. We’re excited for what’s in store through Merge and Echelon.
With that in mind, we felt it could be really beneficial and fun to have a sort-of parent hang out with some learning and discussion around topics that, as parents, we are or will be wrestling with when it comes to our kids and teens. If you’re already dropping your kids and teens off, you are invited to stick around and be part of this on Wednesday evenings in our main Foyer as a way to get to know other parents, to learn and discuss stuff that matters to us and our kids right now, and to keep encouraging one another to keep going! Each evening will also end with some recommended resources for that specific topic.
Here’s the topic list for the next 5 weeks:
October 1: “How do we keep Jesus in our family rhythms whether my kids want it or not?”
October 8: “Technology and our kids: are we powerless or can it work for us?”
October 15: “How do I talk to my kids about things like sexuality, mental health, spiritual doubt, etc?”
October 22: “We’re busy and they’re busy. How do we create enough margin to be the best we can be for each other and for our kids?”
October 29: Open discussion and questioning time.
If this is something you’d like to part of, please let us know by registering below so we can prepare accordingly.
If you have to miss one of the evenings, that’s totally ok and if you can only make it to one, that’s also totally ok! We recommend you try to be at every week but understand that may be difficult for some.
Hope to see you there!
