Join us October 31st from 8-10:30PM for a night of dodgeball and friendly competition! We're teaming up with a few local churches for a tournament you won't want to miss. Bring water and invite your friends! No snacks will be provided, so make sure to eat dinner before you come! It will be at St Francis Xavier Sports Centre: SFXSC- Gym 3.

On Tuesday, October 28th at 7:00 PM, we’re teaming up with the young adults from Steele Heights Baptist for a creative night at Connors Hill. We’re calling it Mug Shots — an evening of painting portraits of each other. Whether your masterpiece looks like fine art or more like a doodle, it’s going to be a night full of laughter, creativity, snacks and community.

Join us on Tuesday, October 28th at 7pm at Connors Hill to learn more about making Central your church home. You will hear about our vision and direction at Central, and you’ll have an opportunity to get to know others who are starting to plug in at Central, too.

This class is for all three sites and is designed for those who would like to learn more about Central or for those who would like to formally join the church. If you'd like to join the church, please come prepared to share a 3-4 minute version of your faith story (in small groups).

Central Women at Connors Hill invites you to MAKE ROOM for our first gathering of the ministry year! Join us on Thursday, October 23 from 7-9pm for a DESSERT NIGHT with worship, sharing & prayer. Please bring a dessert to share.

Relating to adult children is radically different than parenting school age kids.

• How do we do life with our adult kids?

• Is it possible to do too much for our adult children and end up hurting them and their future?

• Are we helping or enabling our adult child?

• How should parents respond when they experience rejection from their adult kids?

• What do we do when our adult kids choose values contrary to ours?

Jim Burns, founder of HomeWord ministries, has addressed these questions in his book “Doing Life with Your Adult Children: Keep your mouth shut and the welcome mat out.” We will watch a video of Jim Burns talking through the main principles laid out in his book. Then Pastor Tom will lead us through a large group discussion about the video. We will conclude with round table discussion and prayer.

This event is a 50+ seminar but all adults are welcome including parents of school age kids. Refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP HERE so we can plan accordingly.

You are invited to a morning of connection and prayer. The purpose is to meet for a time to connect with other women from Connors Hill over coffee/tea and to pray for each other and the world around us. It meets one Saturday per month at 10am. Bonnie Schwalfenberg leads this group; please email her for more information and to let her know if you plan to attend an upcoming date. There is no need to commit to every session - come when you can, and feel free to invite a friend!

Soup season is upon us and we want to welcome you to an evening of cozy connection! Join us Friday, October 10, from 6-8pm for food and fellowship. We’ll enjoy a variety of homemade soups together while building friendships with other women from our church. Please bring a muffin pan (for sampling multiple soups!) and, if you are able and desire, a crockpot of soup (with the recipe.)

Parents, on Wednesday evenings after dropping off your kids to Merge or Echelon, you’re invited to join Pastor Tomas in the foyer at Connors Hill for a parent hang out with some learning and discussion arounds topics that, as parents, we are or will be wrestling with when it comes to our kids and teens. On Friday, October 3, Central Youth will join with youth groups across Edmonton at Saints Church (Glastonbury Site) for a worship night. The 780 Rally nights are a neat way to connect with students and leaders from across Edmonton, worship the Lord, and see what He is doing throughout our city. Drop off and pick up will be at Saints Church Glastonbury.

Merge is our mid-week discipleship program for students in grades 4, 5 and 6. Join us as we learn about the Armor of God and how we can apply it in our lives. We will be meeting on Wednesday evenings, from 6:30-8:00pm from October 1 to November 19 in the large group elementary room.

We will be doing a Bible study with games, activities and discussions as well as a snack each week.

This study is intended for students who want to dig in, grow in their faith and commit to attending all of the program. PLEASE consider this session for your child if they are ready to mature in their faith. We will have fun with friends, but the emphasis on these evenings will be primarily to dig into what the Bible has to say about the Amour of God. Questions? Please talk with Kim.

Merge is our program for kids in grades 4,5 and 6 who want to dig in and grow deeper in their faith and commit to attending all of the program. It will run on Wednesdays from October 1 to November 19 from 6:30-8:00pm in the gym at Connors Hill.

This fall we will be looking at the Ten Commandments, not as a set of rules, but rather as a roadmap from a loving God that helps us stay on the right path. Then we will do a deep dive on prayer, helping students develop a deeper, more personal prayer life.

Merge is our program for kids in grades 4,5 and 6 who want to grow deeper in their faith and commit to attending all of the program. Merge this fall at Southeast will be happening on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm-8pm from October 1st-November 19th, at the same time and site as SE Youth Echelon and a new adult discipleship gathering.

For this session, our preteen discipleship group will be aligned with the youth and the adults in learning from the Practicing the Way course which is all about apprenticing with Jesus.

Over 8 weeks all these groups will be exploring what it means to be with Jesus, become like Him and do as He did through the Practicing the Way course materials.

Registration is required for Merge (Grade 4-6) but not for the youth or adult groups. We will also have a Merge wrap-up party on December 3rd for the SE Merge students who are available to gather for one more Wednesday.

Join us for Echelon this fall for an 8-week journey through John Mark Comer’s Practicing the Way video series. Starting Wednesday, October 1st, from 6:30–8:00 PM, students will gather at one of our three sites for site-specific group discussions and accountability. Together, we’ll explore practical ways to follow Jesus and live out our faith in today’s world. Don’t miss this chance to grow with others and deepen your relationship with God!

The monthly Alberta Baptist Association’s Hymn Sing is happening Sunday, September 28th, and this time we are hosting! Join us at 6pm at the Connors Hill site together with churchgoers from around the city to sing hymns, with fellowship and refreshments to follow. Please bring something to share (sandwiches, desserts, etc.) We look forward to worshiping with you!

You’re invited to the Sherwood Park Men’s Ministry Chili Cookoff!
Come hungry, because you’ll be sampling and scoring a variety of chilis—with a winner crowned at the end of the night.

This event will also serve as our Men’s Ministry year Kickoff event, where we’ll share upcoming opportunities to connect, grow, and get involved.

🔥 Want to compete? Bring your best pot of chili (and any secret toppings you think will clinch victory). 

🍴Just tasting? Bring a muffin tin—it’s the perfect tool for sampling.

Snacks and drinks will also be provided. A $5 donation is encouraged to help cover costs.

Come on out on Saturday, September 27 from 9am-1pm for a workday at McDougall where people of all ages can work together to help get this new site cleaned and decluttered! All ages are welcome, however, kids must help alongside their parents or another adult. If you are bringing kids, please list their ages on the RSVP.

We’re not sure at this point if we’ll be able provide cleaning supplies, so please bring what you have. A pair of gloves is recommended, and items like rags and buckets would be useful, too.

Friday, September 26, all youth will meet at our Connors Hill Site for a Lumberjack Party! Dress as a lumberjack, and join us for games, fellowship, and fun.
