Hey YAs!
We're heading out to the Pembina River on Saturday, August 22 for a River Float! There are a few things you'll need to know...
1. Head over to the Pembina Rental site and book a spot on Saturday, August 22nd at 10:00am. Tube rentals cost $35 dollars per person. This cost will cover the tube, tube ties, paddles, a life jacket, and a shuttle back to the start. Here's the link: River Float Tube Rental.
2. We will be meeting at Connors Hill at 7:45AM with the intention of leaving the church at 8:00AM sharp! The Rental facility requires that you arrive at least 15 minutes before your float time.
3. We'll be floating for approximately 2 hours. Please make sure you bring a swimsuit, dry change of clothes, water, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, snacks, lunch, and anything else you think you may need.
4. The plan is to have a BBQ and play some yard games after the float. Details of this are TBD.
RSVP HERE by August 21st so we can plan accordingly. We can't wait to hang with you all. See you Saturday!
SP Jr Highs, invite a friend and join us for an outdoor games night at the SP Site! We will have lots of game options, but come ready with a change of clothes, a towel, a water bottle, and a water gun in case weather permits! We will have some refreshing snacks and a backup plan in case weather goes sideways.
Care Visiting Team Interest Invitation
We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If it is serving, then serve. . . If it is to encourage, then give encouragement . . . If it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Romans 12:6-8
Do you have a passion for serving, encouragement and mercy? Do you have a compassionate heart for seniors?
At Central, we value people of all stages including the aging and the isolated. Many aging friends can struggle with purpose as they experience transitions like retirement, aging issues and health struggles. It is also easy to forget about those who can no longer regularly join us.
But we want seniors to know that God isn’t done with them. God hasn’t forgotten them. We want to participate in God’s loving purposes by intentionally reaching out to the lonely and those isolated because of aging issues, illness and loss.
So, we’re developing care visiting teams at each of our sites. Team members connect regularly with seniors in need of encouragement and prayer. We go to homes, care facilities or hospitals. We experience Jesus releasing those He’s gifted to bring His hope and love to the isolated.
If this opportunity interests you, please join us for the Care Visiting Team Information Seminar on Wednesday, Sept 9 at 7 PM (at our Connor's Hill site) to discuss this possibility. All prospective team members will need to complete an application process. We will provide teaching, resources and on the job training.
Please RSVP HERE.
Thanks so much for your interest!
Sincerely,
Tom Anderst - Pastor of Seniors
