McDougall Core Group
We’re starting a new gospel-centred church in the heart of downtown Edmonton—and every church begins the same way—with people following Jesus together.
The core group is the first community that is gathering around this new work. It’s simple, relational, prayerful, and foundational. If you want to explore being part of this team—or even just stay informed—please fill out the interest form.

What the Core Group Is
The core group is a relational, open-handed community preparing the ground for a new church. It’s not a fully-formed church yet—it’s people gathering, praying, sharing food, building trust, and discerning the values and culture that will shape the church.
In this season, we will build relationships and form community, pray for downtown and the future congregation, learn and discern values together, begin serving in small, practical ways, prepare for future ministry teams and leadership. A church is not a building—it’s people following Jesus. The core group is where those people first gather.
Staffing: Who’s Leading This?
The McDougall launch will be guided from day one by Jeremy Putz (Lead Pastor), who will provide vision, teaching, and leadership throughout the early stages.
As the core group begins, we’ll immediately begin the search for a Site Pastor—a dedicated leader who will shepherd the new congregation forward.
Before the soft launch, we also plan to hire additional team members focused on worship and kids ministry, with more roles added as momentum builds and ministry needs grow.
Want to Stay Connected?
Everything—updates, gatherings, volunteer days, opportunities to serve—goes through the Interest Form.
Filling it out simply gets you on the list so we can keep you in the loop as this new church is born.
