Discussion

  • In addition to the Genesis 1 Scripture for this week, take a look at 1 Samuel 16:7b and 2 Corinthians 5:16-18a. What stands out to you from these passages? How do these passages most challenge or encourage you?

  • The Bible describes God as the source of all relationships. What does our Genesis passage say we are to do with the relationships God has created (given us)?

  • Even when worldly relationships are difficult, God gives us spiritual relationships within the Church. How does Ephesians 4:15-16 describe the relationships between those of us within the Body of Christ and how we are connected to Jesus?

  • Where do you see relationships in this world that are missing the mark (based on God’s desire for relationships)?

  • Is there a relationship that is presently causing you anxiety, stress, or pain? How is Jesus equipping you to navigate that relationship? What does the Gospel message say about how God views the other person in your difficult relationship? What does it say about how God views you?

  • Is there a relationship in your life you feel is beyond restoration? Would you be willing to surrender that relationship to God, to invite his peace and his grace into that situation on behalf of yourself and the other person?

  • How do you want to respond to this passage in your daily life?

PRAYER

  • How can we pray for you as a group?

  • Next week: JOHN 1:35-51
