TEACHING RECAP
Summary: Our culture talks about sex constantly—but seems more confused about it than ever. We’re told to follow our desires, yet that path so often leads to disappointment, pain, and regret. What if God’s design for sex was never about restriction, but about joy, intimacy, and freedom? This talk cuts through the noise and invites you to see sex as one of God’s most powerful and life-giving gifts.
Main Points:
Getting sex right starts with seeing it as a gift from God.
God commands us to love our neighbours by protecting their marriages.
Adultery begins in the heart—growing from seeing to wanting to taking.
When marriages are healthy, everyone benefits.
Only the grace of Jesus Christ can forgive our sins and make us strong."
On-Ramps:
Pursue Jesus Christ and kill the beast.
If you’re using porn, bring it into the light and do whatever it takes to stop.
Do whatever you can this week to protect a marriage—your own or someone else’s.
Discussion
What stands out to you from this passage? How does this passage most challenge or encourage you?
Genesis 1 & 2 describe how gender, marriage, and sex are all part of God’s “very good” creation. Read Genesis 1:27–28 and Genesis 2:24–25. What stands out to you about the way these three parts of God’s design are connected—and what happens when we try to separate them?
Our culture sends constant messages about sex, marriage, and gender. What are some of the messages you’ve noticed that conflict with God’s design in Genesis? Are you finding yourself having to navigate any of those messages in your own life, family, or sphere of relationships?
Thinking about the various struggles that we can face in the area of sexuality, what is one thing God might be calling you personally to do differently this week?
As you look ahead, what is one truth or encouragement from today’s discussion that you want to remember or apply in an ongoing way?
PRAYER
