GROUP GUIDE

Leading a group through these questions? Here’s a simple guide for 1.5-2 hour GROUP meeting.

  1. Welcome and Opening Prayer. (5 minutes)

  2. Read the passage aloud. (5 minutes)

  3. Guide the group through the questions. (30-60 minutes)

  4. Take time to share prayer requests and pray for each other. (15-30 minutes)

Discussion

  • What stands out to you from these passages? How do these passages most challenge or encourage you?

  • What stands out to you in Jesus’ repeated question to Peter: “Do you love me?” Why do you think He asked it three times?

  • How do you interpret Jesus' words to Peter in verse 22: “If I want him to live until I come back, what concern is that of yours? You follow me!”?

  • How does the theme of restoration in this passage challenge the way our culture often deals with failure or public mistakes? How about in the church?

  • Where in your life have you experienced restoration or a second chance? How does Peter’s story encourage you?

  • What does it look like to “feed Jesus’ sheep” in your own context (family, workplace, church, etc)?

  • Are there areas where you have been encouraged this week to take the “next step” in following Jesus, that you would like to share with the group?

  • How do you want to respond to these passages in your daily life?

PRAYER

  • How can we pray for you as a group?

  • Next week: John 20:30-31
