Discussion
What stands out to you from this passage? How does this passage most challenge or encourage you?
How do you think the phrase “love must be sincere” sets the tone for the rest of the passage?
Can you think of other parts of the Bible that talk about the covenantal love of God and describe what that looks like?
What would our neighbourhoods or workplaces look like if these verses shaped the way people related to each other? What would change?
Which part of this passage do you think is most needed in our community or society right now?
Think of a recent situation where it was hard to “bless and not curse.” How could these verses have shaped your response differently?
How do you typically respond when someone in your life is suffering? Or rejoicing? How might this passage call you to grow in compassion and presence?
