Discussion

  • What stands out to you from this passage? How does this passage most challenge or encourage you?

  • In Acts 14, Paul and Barnabas see both openness and opposition. What does this passage teach us about how God’s mission often moves forward?

  • The crowd in Lystra sees God’s power but misunderstands it, trying to worship Paul and Barnabas instead of the living God. Where do you see people today being drawn to spiritual power, inspiration, or personality without actually surrendering to Jesus?

  • Paul and Barnabas refuse to receive glory for themselves and keep pointing people back to God. What makes humility difficult when God uses us, blesses us, or gives us influence?

  • Paul is opposed, harmed, and still continues strengthening disciples and appointing leaders. What does this show us about perseverance, and where might Christians today need courage without becoming combative?

  • One sermon asks whether we are “holding on to too much” to freely follow Jesus. What comforts, ambitions, possessions, fears, or definitions of success might make it harder for us to live on mission?

  • How do you want to respond to this passage in your daily life?

PRAYER

  • How can we pray for you as a group?

  • Next week: Acts 10:44-48
