Discussion

  • What stands out to you from this passage? How does this passage most challenge or encourage you?

  • Why do you think He allows us to experience seasons of severe lack even when we are walking directly in His will?

  • In what ways do we inadvertently put God to the test, demanding that He prove His presence and goodness?

  • In verse 6, God says He will stand on the rock while Moses strikes it. Symbolically, God is placing Himself in the line of fire where the blow of the staff will land. What does this remarkable imagery teach us about God’s patience and willingness to bear the burdens of His people's brokenness?

  • How do you want to respond to this passage in your daily life?

PRAYER

  • How can we pray for you as a group?
